Amazon Rainforest – Did you know?

The Amazon Rainforest is the largest tropical rainforest in the world. It occupies 421,000 hectares of Brazilian territory, and is present in the states of Acre, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, Amapá, Mato Grosso, Tocantins, and Maranhão.

It corresponds to 1/3 of the world's reserves of humid tropical forests. It has 20% of the planet's fresh water and possesses a mineral stockpile that hasn't even been calculated yet.

Research indicates that there are approximately thirty million animal species in the Amazon. And that's because not all species have been found and studied by scientists. There are some animals there that are still unknown to humans.
